According to a recent report, Christoph Waltz who appeared as the villainous Blofeld in last year's SPECTRE may have signed a contract for a further two James Bond films under one condition...
Neal Purvis and Robert Wade are brought in to iron out Logan's final draft. Will the release date be pushed back?
'Pulp Fiction' and 'Fae/Off' actor, John Travolta expresses his desire to fulfil his life ambition of becoming a Bond villain. He was interviewed by the Telegraph and claimed that he won't “close the chapter on playing villains”, until he is cast as a bad guy in a James Bond film.
“I would love that. They’re going a different way with their villain in this next film but I’ve spoken to Barbara Broccoli about it and she loves the idea, so that would be great.” News on Bond 24 has been pretty slow since Sam Mendes was confirmed as director, but John Logan was interviewed by IGN and mentioned his progress on the next James Bond adventure...
"All I can say about Bond is that I'm happily writing it. Sam Mendes would rappel through the window and kill me." Ralph Fiennes confirmed earlier this week that he will be returning in "Bond 24". In "Skyfall" he was introduced as Gareth Mallory. But those who have seen the film know that his character takes over as "M" the MI6 Chief; a role previously filled by Dame Judi Dench. "I think everyone knows that, I don't think that's particularly a secret. I'm looking forward to it very much." Ralph Fiennes on playing M in "Bond 24" German film director Roland Emmerich has expressed his desire to direct a Bond film in the future. Known for his work on "2012" and "Independence Day", Emmerich was interviewed by Yahoo movies and said that he liked the new direction Mendes took with "Skyfall" and would like to give it a go. "Especially after the last one [Skyfall], because they've finally had the guts to go in different moods. I think a classic Bond film, no. But if they would let me do my Bond film the same way they let English director Sam Mendes do his Bond film, then that'd be interesting. Have a word with Barbara Broccoli when you get back." Emmerich was once considered to direct "Die Another Day" back in 2002 but he lost out to Lee Tamahori. Emmerich is spending his time on the sequel to "Independene Day", and not to mention Sam Mendes has already signed on to direct "Bond 24" in 2015.
To set rumours to rest, it has been confirmed by Gregg Wilson (Associate Producer) that BOND 24 and BOND 25 will not be shot back-to-back like tabloids believe. Gregg also states that John Logan hasn't produced a draft for the producers yet but has been working on one late last year, which he says is "no where near" the treatment stage for BOND 24. Addidionally, Sam Mendes told the press at the BAFTA's last week that he would return to helm BOND 24 if the producers want him. "I've had a great time, it's been a huge learning curve and we would want to make a better movie next time around, and if we thought we could do that they might let me have another go again." In another interview, the producers made it clear that they really do want him back for the next film. However, a crisis looms and could possibly delay BOND 24 for a further year. Sam Mendes is already committed to produce a musical version of 'Charlie And The Chocolate Factory' which opens on 18th May, whilst John Logan has joined to direct a film called 'King Lear' at the National Theatre which opens in January 2014. The producers have decided to wait for Mendes and Logan to finish their projects before they even think about starting BOND 24. Due to this delay, we could now expect to see BOND 24 hit cinemas in the summer of 2015 (or late 2015 if production is delayed further) It is already confirmed that Daniel Craig will return as James Bond in this film (so long as he doesn't turn it down at the last minute) and will be joined by Ralph Fiennes as 'M', Naomi Harris as 'Miss Moneypenny' and Ben Whishaw as 'Q'. The new MI6 team is contracted to stay until Daniel Craig's departure in BOND 25. However, the producers may decide to keep them for future films.

As reported last week, screenwriter John Logan will be writing the next two James Bond films. However, Daniel Craig tells the press that the two stories will not be linked and even if they are, they would not be shot back-to-back like the last two Harry Potter films or the last Back To The Future film. “No, I don’t know where that’s come from. It's impossible to do a two parter, I heard that someone was talking about that we’re doing a two parter, but that’s the first I’ve heard about it. We can only do them one at a time, they take six months to shoot. You can’t write one movie thinking about the next. All we’re trying to do is get the next one sorted out and it’ll stand on its own and if I’m able I’ll do another one after that.” Daniel Craig is also trying to get Sam Mendes to direct BOND 24. “If Sam were to do the next one, which would be great, we have set up an awful lot of ideas and we have still got other things to play around with. I love working with him. He allows me to relax and get on with my job.” Apparently, MGM told the press that “Daniel has made it very clear that Sam should direct the next film. He and Sam have been plotting out story ideas but no executive has given them a yes yet.” In a recent report by Variety, John Logan, the solo writer for the next two Bond movies may be writing BOND 25 as a sequel to BOND 24, similarly to Quantum Of Solace being the sequel to Casino Royale. This has also let to speculation that we may see the continuation and finale of the QUANTUM organisation first introduced fully in 2008's Quantum Of Solace. Rumour has started that BOND 24 and BOND 25 are to be shot back-to-back and released seperately like Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows Part 2 and Back To The Future Part III. Although we highly doubt the producers would allow that. Logan worked on "Skyfall" with the team of Neal Purvis and Robert Wade who had worked on the franchise's scripts back to 1999's "The World Is Not Enough." BOND 24 has an estimated release date of November 2014 and BOND 25 in 2016 as the series is trying to pump a new Bond film every two years like normal. Click here for more updates on BOND 24 |
