During the '89 to '93 hiatus, Michael G.Wilson and Alfonse M. Ruggiero Jr wrote a 19 page draft titled "Bond 17" in may 1990. Writers Willard Huyck & Gloria Katz were reported to have been hired to adapt the story further. Production got as far as casting with several actors approached by the producers. Unfortunetly, by 1993 the word had changed. The Cold War had come to an end as well as Timothy Dalton's contract. A fresh story was written by Michael France after two previous drafts by Will Osbourne and Will Davies were scrapped, and Pierce Brosnan was signed on for 007 in "Goldeneye"
